Help us save our puppies with Parvo
1/27/25 UPDATE:
All puppies have been released and are in foster homes! We did everything we could for these pups almost losing one on the way. The doctors and staff at Coyne were able to perform a miracle for these pups and for us. But in doing so, we have almost completely depleted our medical fund.
We are not in a position to take on another case like this. We try to be realistic about the dogs in our care, but we always try to make saying either YES or NO an option for us. Right now, we are in a position where we may have to say no even if we would like to say yes. Because of our amazing community support, we have had this option up until now. By supporting this campaign, you can give us this option back.
This was a surprise case. Thankfully most of our medical cases aren't this expensive and we know the approximate cost going in. But there is always a chance of surprise medical costs or an emergency expense. Please help us to continue saving these dogs in need.
Saturday January 4, 2025, we received 6 absolutely sweet and adorable 12 week old puppies from Missouri. There was supposed to be seven but one died unexpectedly on Friday. With that knowledge, we started to fear the worst. We made sure the transport volunteers got to our friends at Coyne Crown Point in time today to see a doctor.
Two were sick, really sick. Worms larger than anything that should come out of such a small puppy were seen in their very loose stools. White gums. Lethargic. They were all tested.
Confirmed Parvo.
Something so easily avoided with vaccinations, something thankfully we haven’t had to deal with in years. We are so careful - no paws on the ground until they are fully inoculated. These puppies were not given that “shot” at life yet.
We have to save them! At upwards of $1500 per puppy for treatment is needed. Please help!
