Guardians of the Green Mile (est. 2013) is a 100% volunteer and foster based 501c3 non-profit rescue with foster homes across NWI. We primarily rescue dogs at risk of euthanasia or harm due to injury, abuse, abandonment, and neglect and have saved 1,000s of lives including Michigan City's own Chance Christmas (2015). Things we must buy...martingale collars so our shy new dogs can't slip their collar. Tags to attach to their collars in case they sneak out the door. Leashes for our new fosters so they have the appropriate equipment to bond with their new foster dog on a walk. Food and treats of course. And vetting...did we mention that? Wow, that can add up fast!
